TIME

Heather Small and other celebrities have joined up with Barnardo's to support one of their latest campaigns: 'Home Time - Putting Children In The Frame'. The campaign is aimed at finding permanent homes for the thousands of children awaiting adoption across the UK and will take the form of a photography gallery with the help of acclaimed photographer 'Cambridge Jones'. The exhibition highlights and shares the stories of just some of the thousands of children in the care system who have nowhere to call home. The other guests and celebrities involved with the project are Mario Testino, Laura Bailey, Lulu Guinness, Sophie Raworth, Sam Taylor Wood, Dom Joly, Sean Bean, Andrew Lincoln, Brian Belo, Bruce Oldfield, Cherie Blair, Claudia Winkleman, Colin Salmon, Fraser James, Gail Porter, Bruce Oldfield, Jack Davenport, Josie D'Arby, Stephen Mangan and Rageh Omar. The exhibition runs at the Getty Images Gallery, 46 Eastcastle Street, London from April 24th 2008 until May 3rd 2008.

Samples From The Gallery

There are 3 different ‘types’ of image in the exhibition relating to Heather (and all the other celebrities) - images taken by the celebrity of a child or children awaiting adoption, images of Heather taken by that child/ children and images of them together taken by iconic celebrity photographer, Cambridge Jones. The are examples of all three shown. The child Heather is photographing here is Nicole, a lively, friendly, healthy, bubbly, 5 year old girl who is meeting her developmental milestones. Nicole presents as shy, but can be a happy engaging girl. Nicole has experienced many changes in her care. She needs stability, reassurance, emotional support and nurturing. Nicole needs an adoptive family that will promote her ethnic and cultural heritage. (Black / Caribbean – Montserrat)
